Undergraduate Auditions
Students interested in pursuing
undergraduate clarinet studies at Iowa State University
must audition for acceptance into
the music program. Auditions may be arranged by contacting Dr.
Gregory Oakes to schedule an
audition in person on campus. Although live auditions are
preferred, audio or video taped auditions are acceptable if
travel distance is prohibitive. Undergraduate auditions
typically consist of two contrasting solos/etudes from the
standard clarinet repertoire. An accompanist is not necessary
for auditions. Students may also audition for
scholarships at the same time.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to
contact the university's Office of Admissions for
information on additional, non-music scholarships. Students
interested in scholarship consideration should audition prior
to March 1.
